Suit filed against driver, company after fatal crash

When a motor vehicle crash is truly an accident, blame can be hard to apply. This is not always the case, though. In some situations, one of the involved drivers can be pinpointed as the reason for the collision.

According to a recent wrongful death suit filed in Illinois, a driver employed by a construction company was the cause of an accident that claimed the lives of three people.

The suit was recently filed by the family of the three deceased individuals. According to the relatives, the family has been deprived of comfort, society and valuable services due to the alleged negligence of the driver.

The crash occurred on June 17, 2011 in Lee County in western Illinois. The construction worker was behind the wheel of a company car when he reportedly ignored a stop sign. Allegedly, he drove through the stop sign at a high speed while heading south on Harmon Road at the intersection of U.S. Route 30.

A vehicle driven by a man, carrying two passengers, was heading east on U.S. Route 30 when the two cars collided. According to the lawsuit, the crash was the cause of death for all three individuals. The suit named the driver of the company vehicle as well as the company that employed him at the time as defendants.

Attempts to reach the company for comment did not succeed while the male driver, accused of killing the family's loved ones in the suit, declined to comment on the litigation, possibly due to its pending status.

Family members who feel like they have been deprived by the loss of their loved ones may want to consider the potential of filing a similar suit. Remember that driving is an activity that can quickly turn dangerous when other drivers fail to obey the rules of the road and act recklessly.
